Motor boats

Chasewater recently took delivery of a small fleet of motorboats.  These electrically powered craft allow pupils as young as Y3 to experience life afloat throughout the year and are an exciting new addition to the activities on offer.  Scroll down this page and visit the Endon Hall Primary School website for the very first photographs of them in action.

Green Energy

Chasewater has seen the installation of an array of solar panels during March 2007 that will significantly reduce oil consumption by providing hot water for the centre; even though this year's summer failed to match that of 2006 the savings have been considerable.  There are also plans to install a single 5kw wind turbine on the site, subject to environmental considerations, which will further reduce costs and enhance the intention to reduce carbon emissions in Staffordshire by 50% by 2050.

School websites

A number of schools are featuring visits to the Centres on their websites; this list is by no means exhaustive but allows you to sample some of the ways in which children can develop during a visit.  If you would like a link to your school's site please contact the Manager at Chasewater OEC.
