Tim Moss-Primary Senior Adviser
Tim is a Primary Strategy Consultant with specific expertise in mathematics. He works with schools to develop learning and teaching in order to raise standards. He has line management responsibilities for the primary mathematics consultants.

Cathy provides numeracy support through intensive support, PSL and ISP schools, working alongside co-ordinators and schools to improve learning and teaching in mathematics. Her responsibilities within the team include AfL and supporting NQTs.

John Wajdner-Primary Numeracy Consultant
John supports schools with numeracy through intensive support, PSL and ISP and supports coordinators to raise achievement in mathematics. He is also responsible for both statutory and non-statutory assessments.

Ruth Tonkinson - Every Child Counts Teacher Leader
Ruth is a seconded Deputy Head and Lead Maths Teacher from Pye Green Valley Primary.
Every Child Counts is at present a two year programme and Ruth is based at Flash Ley Primary where she is working with targeted year two children. Ruth provides 1:1 intervention, support and guidance through the Numbers Count programme. In the second year Ruth will be training and mentoring a group of Numbers Count teachers within Staffordshire.

Vanessa Brown-Secondary Senior Adviser
Prior to joining the Secondary Mathematics Team as a secondary mathematics adviser, Vanessa was a head of mathematics in a Staffordshire School. Within SID, her main focus is developing teaching and learning in mathematics. She also has particular responsibility for Newly Qualified Teachers, teaching assistants and functional skills. She has line management responsibilities for the secondary mathematics consultants.

Jim Kelly-Secondary Numeracy Consultant
Jim has joined the Maths team from Wilnecote High School where he was Head of Maths. He has worked in St. Thomas Moore, Stoke on Trent and before that in Research and Development at GEC.

Karen has worked in Staffordshire schools for 25 years and recently joined the team from Rising Brook High Sports College where she was subject Leader for mathematics.

Trevor has joined the Maths team from Blurton High School in Stoke-on-Trent, where he was Assistant Headteacher leading the faculty of Mathematics and Science for four years. Before this he worked as a Secondary Strategy Mathematics Consultant in Dorset.

Phil Chaffé-Further Mathematics Centre Manager
Phil joined the maths team after working for 8 years as the Head of Mathematics at King Edward VI School in Lichfield. He has worked in schools in Staffordshire and Derbyshire. Phil is the manager of the Staffordshire and Shropshire Further Maths Centre.
