The Local Delivery Agency (LDA)

As part of the Government's PESSCL strategy, high quality continuing professional development for teachers and AOTTs was seen as a major priority.

Sports pitchIn order to deliver high quality lessons we
need to ensure that teachers and AOTTs are supported in their personal and school development needs.

The Local Delivery Agency was developed in Staffordshire to help plan for the range of professional needs across the county.
Its work is funded in four strands:

  1. Secondary Innovation Funding.  Staffordshire is one of only 40 LDAs nationally to obtain this funding and is currently delivering on a two year support plan.
  2. Primary Funding.  This area is delivered through the school sports partnerships.  For details of your most up to date local support please contact your partnership development manager.
  3. Gifted and Talented.  Stafford Sports College have worked with Hagley Park and Stoke on Trent to develop some gifted and talented work.  This will be disseminated during 2008
  4. Primary Link Teacher training.  Middle management training within primary schools.
