GCSE Theory through practical

A continuing theme in GCSE attainment is underperformance by many pupils within the theory section of the assessment process.  Changes in specifications reinforce the importance of application of knowledge and not simple recall.  Support in this programme develops delivery of theoretical elements through practical learning.

It will

• Investigate performance at GCSE with comparisons to local/national data
• Unpick issues around performance in the Theory element of the examination course
• Discuss/ Experience and Design teaching methods for delivering theoretical work

Whilst focussing on GCSE provision much of the content is applicable to the delivery of BTEC and Diploma based learning
