Setting up Committees of Governing Bodies has been written in order to assist governing bodies to determine the committee structure that is appropriate to their school. It also deals with some of the key principles in the formation and operation of committee meetings.
It is appreciated that most schools will wish to arrange for a Clerk to Committees to be appointed from within the school. To assist Committee Clerks in the preparation of minutes, a Committee Meeting Report Pro Forma can be used for this purpose. These minutes should be circulated to governors for consideration prior to the next full governing body meeting.
