Book now for free London 2012 Education workshop

Staffordshire Get Set Leaders outside the Olympic Park under construction The London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games present an exciting opportunity for children and young people.     You don't have to wait until 2012 to get involved.  Get Set is the official London 2012 educational programme which brings the Games to life across all curriculum areas. 

A special afternoon workshop aimed at teachers across the West Midlands is set to take place at the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent 2012 Conference at the Pirelli Stadium, Burton upon Trent on 4 February 2010 from 12.45pm to 4.15pm.

Here you will find out more about Get Set which offers children and young people aged 3-19 years from schools and colleges across the UK to learn more about the Olympic and Paralympic values and play their part in the 2012 Games.

Through its website, Get Set provides a range of flexible learning resources including games, fact sheets, films news articles and more.

To date over 240 schools across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent have signed up to become a part of the Get Set programme which will enhance learning right across the curriculum through sport, culture and education. This puts the County in the top ten in the country for the number of registrations.

The workshop which is free will be delivered by the Education Team from the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games (LOCOG). They will highlight the opportunities for schools to get involved in the Games through the Get Set programme,  give examples of what schools across the country are already doing, discuss how to join the Get Set network and linking ideas to the curriculum.
