Schools are changing, and the pace of that change is fast. More people are working in our schools than ever before, including a significant number of support staff. Schools are becoming more complex organisations and the work of support staff is becoming more varied and demanding. There is an increasing emphasis on building the whole school team - leadership, teachers and support staff - so that, working together, everyone can make a more powerful contribution to the overall objective of raising standards.
Change on this scale can only be managed with the help of a well-trained, highly motivated workforce with the up-to-date skills and knowledge to carry out their roles effectively and develop the skills they will need in the future. We want to make a difference to all staff, recognising their backgrounds and contributions.
