Peter Traves - Corporate Director Of Children and Lifelong Learning
I am delighted that you are considering Staffordshire as a place to work. If you join us you can help us achieve our aim of becoming "an inclusive learning County". You can help ensure that regardless of background or ability young people are able to reach their full potential. This is our vision and we need to recruit the best people to help us achieve it.
As one of the largest and most diverse authorities in England and Wales we can offer you excellent career opportunities.
As a Children and Lifelong Learning service we are committed to working in partnership with schools, professional associations, colleagues and the community, to raise standards of learning, teaching and attainment. There has been a very significant improvement in overall standards over the past five years. There is a much greater sense of an achievement culture in our schools. A key focus for us now is inclusion. We have made major improvements in special educational needs and with access for learners with disabilities. A clear target for us is to ensure that learners from less advantaged backgrounds are able to join the achievement culture.
Although we are proud of our achievements and progress we are not complacent and there is still much to do. We constantly evaluate our performance and set ourselves new goals. You would be able to help us in moving forward.
We also recognise that our staff are our most valuable resource. However, staff will only be able to contribute their full talent if they feel valued and if they feel that their right to personal well-being and a proper balance between work and private life is respected. Staff also need to feel that they are able to work in creative and innovative ways. Developing staff well-being and creativity are key priorities for us.
So, whether you are a newly qualified teacher looking for your first post or an experienced professional looking to develop your career, I hope you find the following information useful in making your decisions about the way forward.
We look forward to hearing from you.
