Leadership Pathways offers senior school leaders practical access to the latest in leadership thinking and school practice, which will benefit their schools as well as them as individuals.
The programme seeks to build on experience that participants have developed in middle leadership and via National College programmes such as Leading from the Middle and Teaching Leaders. It can also help support those aspiring to take part in the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH).
- Leadership Pathways is aimed at senior leaders or those aspiring to a senior leadership position in the next one to two years.
- You must submit a complete group application to be considered for Leadership Pathways cohort 9. A group application must consist of at least one participant and a school-based coach.
- The NPQH application process looks for evidence of whole-school leadership and management, ideally within the last three years, in relation to the key areas of the National Standards for Headteachers. Leadership Pathways provides future NPQH applicants with relevant development opportunities.
Leadership Pathways is a self-directed learning programme that enables participants to choose their own pathway to leadership learning. It is designed to be flexible to suit individuals' contexts and needs with emphasis on work-based learning and application.
Who can apply?
Senior leaders or those aspiring to a senior leadership position in the next one to two years. Priority will be given to applications from senior leaders who are members of the senior leadership team within an educational establishment.
